Hey everybody, I'm new to the board, but a longtime Animal Man fan, and I'm glad to be among othe A-Maniacs like myself. I just got the new Animal Man figure from 52, and it rocks! It's likeness is dead-on, the sculpt is perfect...not only does it look like the 52 version, but it is also faithful to Morrison's Animal Man. I've waited years for them to make a figure of Buddy, and now the wait has finally paid off, and I can't tell you how pleased I am with the figure...I just wanted to tell everyone that if you haven't gotten one yet, definitely go out and get one or order it..you won't be disappointed!

Actually the "A" on his chest is not like either 52 or the Grant Morrison Animal man. And while the boots are similar to what appeared in 52; again they're different to what appeared in his ongoing series. His costume seems to change alot though, even within the 52 storyline.

Yeah, that's true. His costume does change alot from comic to comic, and there are little differences here and there between the comics and the figure, but, all around, I'm pretty pleased. It's just great to have a figure of Buddy, period. ;D I hope it's the first of many, but that's probably wishful thinking lol

Well, it's not a mystery that Buddy changed his boots: he just skipped the ones featuring the "waves" and embraced a pair of more ordinary-looking boots. That's all. So the action figure is extremely correct. Tell me more about the 'A' logo he sported in 52... what's the EXACT shape? And why the logo of the action figure is WRONG?

The bottom part of the "A" (under the top flat part) should not form a point. Nor is the letter ever so thick as on the figure.
In issue 43 of 52 his costume changes again, (Though only briefly.) when the dark blue around his neck merges with the "A". Also the fancy boots and gloves are back, which he still has in issue 51 of 52.

Maybe when the AGENTS (= Yellow Aliens) recreated him from a scratch one more time, they also changed the costume AGAIN (they already did that in 'Out of Africa', don't you remember?). Can you confirm this? Does it sound a plausible theory?
By the way, Mino, many thanks for your WISE considerations, and welcome to A-MANIA!

It's funny, but I had given up on there ever being an Animal man action figure, so I started to customize my own. I used a Ninja Spawn as a base, and I think it turned out well. I finished it only a couple of days before I found out that DC will be finally producing an Animal man action figure. I don't mind, because now I have two different ones.
I'd post a picture, but I'm terrible with computers, and I wouldn't know how to do it.

That's so funny. My Animal man stands next to my Swampthing as well. On his other side stands Vixen.
