honestly, before i actually vote, i guess i need to know/see the differences in most of these.
i know what they all look like, but to me, the differences are not that big.
i could be wrong though.

It looks like DC has changed Animal's Man costume. (I don't know if it was intentional or not) In the recent Countdown to Adventure series the blue 'A' on Buddy's chest is now an actual A instead of the upside down V.

I've seen the CTA covers, and it looks like it's his upside down V as always... when did the shift happen? What issue? |

I think it's more likely that the artist doesn't know how to draw him, because it keeps changing back and forth.

Ditto. It's probably the fault of the artist rather than an actual costume change. It changes from book to book. It's a shame because the artist seems to be a pretty good artist, just sloppy when interpreting Animal Man. Maybe he really doesn't like the character; but then why haven't the editors noticed?

here's a thought, maybe (just MAYBE), the costume changes are supposed to be there.
maybe all the changes are a reflection of all the animal men of the 52 earths (each w/ a slightly different costume) all taking part in the same events.
just each 1 is taking place on their specific earths.
just a thought.

Nice Idea but no one else changes. true, but that could easily be explained. not necessarily by me though. could be that animal man has a "higher purpose" here and on all of the earths. maybe it takes the combined effort of all the animal men but only our adam strange and strafire. then again, maybe on the "vertigo" earth, it's animal man, swamp thing and black orchid. again, just a thought. |

i'm gonna say the morrison version is probably my favorite.
mainly because most of the differences are so small to me that i don't notice them and it's the morrison version that brought animal man to the spotlight.
however, i wish he woul duse the balck suit if the occassion calls for it.

Other than that, my friend, that's what I gently ask you:
1- Check all my costumes descriptions and see if they are REALLY right! (I have some doubts about the so-called "Mixed One"; see the end of Morrison's run).
2- Read the Secret Origins file (carefully) and see if there's something to add (especially to the excerpt focused on Morrison's A-Man backstory).

I don't think he would use the black costume again because of it being made out of leather, and he's an animal rights activist. Plus most of his latest adventures seem to happen in space, and if he's wearing a black costume he'd disappear. Or they'd have to keep finding a planet to draw him in front of.
