I don't think he would use the black costume again because of it being made out of leather, and he's an animal rights activist. Plus most of his latest adventures seem to happen in space, and if he's wearing a black costume he'd disappear. Or they'd have to keep finding a planet to draw him in front of. you are right about the black leather costume. but there is no reason why he couldn't get another made from something other than leather. no, it probablly wouldn't work in space but when he gets back home, you never know when some stealth will be requirred.

If he has the power of all the animals in the multiverse then he would probably just tap into a chameleon, or something better. But then again, his costume wouldn't change color, just him. Is there another animal that could work, something we don't know about?

Is there another animal that could work, something we don't know about? true, but if he can only access 1 animal at a time, the suit would give him some stealth and he could use an ability from an animal too. examples: stealth suit + cat's night vision stealth suit + enhanced hearing although, i have questioned the "only 1 animal at a time" thing a couple of times. there are a couple of instances in the 1st 3 trade paperbacks that he had to be using more than 1 at a time. however, i could very well be explained as a editing mishap.

Maybe they will address it in a future storyline. Right now he seems to be having trouble with picking just one animal to tap into, because of the large catalogue of possibilities he has.

Animal Man can even absorb two abilities at the same time. Do you remember when he tapped into the dinosaur's strength while he was flying? (Animal Man #18).
Or when he was "stalking" the beetle/man hybrid by using the dog's sense of smell while he was flying? (Animal Man #2).
Plenty of examples.

I hope that they finally standardize Buddy's costume during/after final crisis. (Please don't change it again.) If it is the fault of the artist, they have to take it alot more seriously. Think of the outrage if they constantly changed Superman's costume. (I'm not talking about ocational changes, but irrelevant changes within a single issue/storyline.)

They must show more respect towards the greatest superhero of all the times... A-Man.

It seems that the Morrison era of Animal Man's costume is the favorite of those who voted, but I realize now that the Morrison era had more than one costume, besides the black leather one. He also changed the costume again when the aliens put Buddy in the morphogenic chamber re-constructor. He came out in a slightly different costume.
So the aliens are to blame for his changing costume. They are still playing around with his body and reconstructing it. But then why doesn't any other character notice his costume changes.
Maybe they all think he's a diva, and choose not to mention it.

I voted the Grant Morisson era.As a second I have the 52 era.
But I don't think the differences are so obvious. There are some ''brush strokes'' only.
What do you think?
