Hey guys,
I was wondering:
Animal Man #22 (TPB #3) featured an excellent story on time travel (GENIUS!) and, at the same time, spoiled some unknown aspects of Buddy's psyche and life. An incredible drama story which used some original concepts related to time travel.
Anyway, the issue wasn't drawn by CHAD TROUG (whose pencil is outstanding in my book). Do you like the temporary penciller they hired? He wasn't that good, but maybe its "juvenile" trait was remotely suitable for a story set in a "juvenile past" (the sixties).
Do you think he wasted #22 of an otherwise magnificent run (Morrison's one)?

just re-read issue 22 in vol. 3. personally, i see nothing wrong w/ the art or the story itself. w/ morrison's run coming to an end, it explained some things and wrapped up some plot threads that had been "forgotten".
i think buddy going to the black leather costume spoke volumes about what he was willing to do for his slain family. even though he didn't like the leather, he was willing to put it on. i think the leather costume represented the "animal" half of animal man. buddy knew he had to resort to animalistic behavior and instinct and wearingthe skin of dead animals helped him get to that point. the man did what he had to do.
sorry for the rant. got carried away.

I was more concerned about the art, just because it wasn't Chad but... you're right, it wasn't bad, but effective. After all, it's an "hallucinatory" story set in the past (sixties), so that pencil works.
What's the name of the penciller anyway?
