What are the odds one or both of them will develop some sort of powers down the road? It has happened in the past, where the offspring of a hero gets their powers, sometimes enhanced (look at Ted and Tommy, Wildcat I & II) Too bad the name "Beast Boy" is already taken  |

Well,
Nevermind the Vertigo Branch. I don't really think either of them (Cliff or Maxine) will develop Buddy's power.
It looks like the Agents did NOT re-arranged the "original" pattern of Buddy's D.N.A., just added the morphogenetic grafts to his "program", his "software", his essence (?): I don't know what.
Presumibly, Buddy's D.N.A. modifies itself ONLY when his power activates.

based on the agents response above, think about this.
what if buddy was tapping into any animal's wild passion to procreate when the kids were conceived?
say maybe to "spice up" he and ellen's sex life.
since he would technically be useing an animal's ability, would his d.n.a. be somewhat altered?
could this then effect the d.n.a. passed on to the kids?
hmmmmmmm?

Every animal (included man) is very "hot" when coming to that. What is the natural ability of bunny rabbits, or thingyroaches. Google the sexual habits of bonobo monkeys. I think it might be possible. At least in comic book land. ;D |

I'd say it is a definite possibility. Look at Flash right now, with his two Super Kids and all that (don't read Flash myself).
Although, I don't think it will happen. Don't really know if I'd want it to either, now that I think about it. Not for about 20 years our time, or 5 years comic time.

Your right. Although it would be interesting, it would also take the focus off Buddy. Look what it did to Swamp Thing. An entire series barely had him in it at all.

think about this.... maxine and/or cliff coul dvery well end up the leaders of the next generation of teen titans.
and if the vertigo era ends up being in continuity, what about the baby buddy had w/ that other woman at the end of the series?
i could be wrong but to me it seemed as kif there was some kind of a connection between the baby and maxine.
just something to think about.

What were Maxine's powers in the Vertigo Branch? if i remember correctly (and i coul dbe wrong), she could communicate w/ animals. not necessarilly, absorb abilities lik edear 'ol dad but could "talk" to them. she even had a pet dinosaur, triceratops (sp.?) i belive. don't exactly remember how that came about either. |
