Well, something doesn't seem too logic. Animal Man's D.N.A. "degrading"? Well, Buddy's body had been REBUILT from a scratch, by using new cells interwined with morphogenetic grafts. It's not like his original DNA was altered. Got it?

Last days is still underusing buddy as far as i'm concerned. The bad guys are not very good thus far and don't excite and as usual the concentration is more on buddy's vulnerabilities and doubts as a super hero rather than viewing his attributes. As morrison alluded to here is a guy who as everything that spiderman as and a billion other animals. By rights Buddy should be the greatest superhero of all time and he is totally underutilised. Dc should be pushing animal man because he as many contrdictions to his character and is less superficial. I do like the everyman attributes he as but this series thus far does'nt know whether to appeal adults or a younger audience and gets stuck as a result. There is still time and obviously the title and screenshots of the final cover suggest darker times to come. I just hope a new longer series could be published. If only Morrison could be persuaded to come back and put animal man where he should be. He could be slightly more mainstream like his current run with batman and robin for me. Perhaps he should show up in the new doom patrol as some sort of pastiche to morrison himself. Serioulsy though i think that trying to fit the justice league is just to sell numbers they didn't really add anything and in such a short run there is too many characters. Perhaps the red tornado and one other should have shown up. Anyway lets wait and see

maybe the key isn't replacing buddy's dna with his kids'. but replacing the kids' with buddy's.

It seems to me that "The Last Days of Animal Man" means he's gonna be Buddy Baker forever, no more powers, no more costume, no more superhero life. It's an alternative story, so I don't take it as *CANON*. STILL, D.N.A. degrading doesn't make sense, IMHO.

I'm excited to see Animal Man get some love, but I hope they don't kill him. Just knowing that he exist in the DCU makes it a cooler place for my $

Well, Buddy didn't die (actually, he did*), but Animal Man is no more. Overall, not the best comic, it won't win any awards, but it was decent enough. Good amount of action, good character moments, and some nice cameos by the League of Titans.
* - Buddy didn't die...in this. But check out Blackest Night #5, where Buddy is now a holder of a Black Ring.

Given all that has happened, will Buddy be back? ( )

Given all that has happened, will Buddy be back? ( ) I'm praying for a new mainstream solo title from DC.
