i'm more of a fan of the late 60's and 70's rock. i love the cheesy 1 hit wonders and the heavy metal/hair bands of the '80's as well.
i'm really not a fan of what is considered rock today. just doesn't have the same feel as the '60's, '70's and '80's. to me it's not rock at all.
but that's just my opinion.

My fav thread on any forum ;D I'll be spending some time here no doubt, exposing you guys to the unexposed world of music I listen to. Briefly - my mainstay for the last 12+ years has been Industrial. Yes, this includes Nine Inch Nails, but also stuff most people have never heard of, such as: Front Line Assembly (Vancouver group formed in 1985 by Bill Leeb) Skinny Puppy (Vancouver based group formed in 1983 by cEvin Key, Nivek Ogre and Bill Leeb) Velvet Acid Christ Numb (Another Vancouver band) Chemlab Destroid Haujobb KMFDM Pig to name a few. Also love metal in various forms: Megadeth Rammstein Fear Factory Mastodon But aside from that, I also like a lot of other stuff. Way too much to list right now. I will be back tho, probably plugging bands etc. like so: Download the brand new, 100% Free NIN album - The Slip here. - the follow up to the last album, Ghosts I-IV which was released a couple months ago.

i like me some nine inch nails and megadeth as well. mainly the older stuff from both but the newer stuff isn't bad either.
i've seen nine inch nails twice and both shows were great.

Megadeth hasn't lost a step with United Abominations, thats for sure.
As for new NIN, don't know if you have heard Ghosts I-V yet, but its 36 tracks of instrumentals, sounding like a cross between The Fragile and Year Zero. The newest album, The Slip, sounds like With Teeth and Year Zero b-sides. Worth the D/L for sure.

i really haven't heard too much of nine inch nails' newer stuff. the hand that feeds (i think that's what it's called) is the most recent thing i've heard.
at 1 point i had every cd (full, single, remix, etc) that nine inch nails put out up to the downward spiral. but most of them have been long sold off.
as for megadeth, th elast thing i can remember hearing was stuff from the countdown to extinction album (sweating bullets, symphony of destruction, etc)

I would recommend you check out Year Zero from NIN, its a solid album through and through, better than With Teeth (where Hand that Feeds is from). And Ghosts, well its just a very nice album. Basically a jam session that turned into an album. You can download the first 9 tracks for free, or pay $5 for all of them, or order the CD for $10 here

I'm a huge Prince fan & i love afro-american music (funk, jazz, hip-hop) in general. I'm also a huge Bill Laswell fan & i love world music, experimental stuff and all that. I also love electronica, particularly trip-hop & electroclash, as well as early 80's new wave & synth pop. Besides all that i like some things here & there from almost every kind of music from rock to reggeae. I'm an obsessive music collector, actually, & the internet has opened the pandora box lol.

In no particular order: Jonathan Coulton MC Front a lot Kimya Dawson Cheap Trick AC/DC Dwight Yokham Tom Petty Joan Jett Elvis Huey Lewis Beastie Boys (old and new stuff) Jimi Hendrix Airbourne (new AC/DC type band... great) Jimmy Buffet
I like a lot of other music, but these are my absolute favorites and are in constant rotation in my cars CD player and on my mp3 player.
