JLE was my introduction to Animal Man. I was a fan of the regular Justice League but for some reason I became a bigger fan of the Europe team and became increasingly interested in Animal Man. Bart Sears version of Buddy was great. In fact I was just able to get a cool comission from Bart of Animal Man and it should be here any day.

JLE was my introduction to Animal Man and this was my favorite pic of the team. In fact I was just able to get a cool comission from Bart of Animal Man and it should be here any day. Tarzan, My only complaint with the "Justice League Europe" period is that Animal Man's powers were really underused. Morrison showed us that Buddy's faculty is the greatest one, when depicted in the proper way. If memory serves me well, I can't even remind if Buddy absorbed some unusual animal power when fighting along the League. That's the biggest disappointment.

Yeah I know he was just kind of there and then in #12 he was gone just like that.

Yeah I know he was just kind of there and then in #12 he was gone just like that. There could be a lot of ways for him to use his most inventive animal powers but... on the other hand, nobody used any powers in that series, so I think it was fair. ;D

Yeah the comedy aspect was one of the main reasons I enjoyed that series so much. I just wish DC would reprint them in TPB.

Yep, but the comedic elements somewhat crossed the line along the way, IMHO. Look to what the JLA series has become in America: a resounding success. And that's because they're keeping it seriously. I would like to see Buddy to team with the League as a permanent member.

A year later and this might not be so far from happening now that Animal Man is out of limbo starting to reappear more often. The only reason it might not happen is because Vixen has too similar powers.

The only reason it might not happen is because Vixen has too similar powers. Vixen is the female version of Animal Man, that's obvious. She's going to get a regular solo title series, don't you know that?

Vixen's powers are limited. First off, she needs the Totem Tantu in order to get them, and I think there's surely a limit to what types of animal abilities she can assume. I don't remember Vixen can fly, for instance. Left alone replicating herself into thousands of copies.

i agree, buddy is definitely an overall better pick as far as powers/abilities go. i just thinks it's great that the big 3 (supes, bats and wondy) see it as well.

It's not what the big 3 think that matters. It's the writers of the book itself. They're the ones who decide if he's in or out. But if they're sympathetic to the character, maybe it's not so far off when he'll be part of the team. Is there anyplace we could write in about something like this? I'm sure everyone on this board would like to know if their opinion mattered to the writers.

i guess i shoul dhave said that i'm glad that the writers are writing the big 3 as knowing buddy's power and potential.
anyway, i do know that dc does check the dc message board from time to time to se what the readers think. they don't always take that into consideration but they do check.
