Cable

After reading a comment by1573 about how Cable is his fav Marvel guy, I just had to make a thread for him.

Now I'm not a huge Marvel guy, and I never was, however since I've been seriously collecting comics, one thing I've always been looking out for is the original X-Force run by Liefeld. Many people hate this guy, bit I like him. Anyway, I have a few of those comics, mainly early on with the latest one (of that series) being when he takes on Stryfe on the moon or whatever and blows himself up.

Aside from that, Cable is the only Marvel title I am currently reading. I picked up #1+2 simply because there was nothing else to buy that day, and was pretty impressed. Just got #3 this last week along with R/T:HW and I will now be sticking with the series. Basically Cable is skipping through the Time Stream with the M-Baby or whatever she is, with Bishop hunting him down. Now like I said, I don't read Marvel, so I have none of the back story aside from what I can piece together from various sources, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying this comic.

I recommend it if you are looking for another title to pick up.

yes, i admit, cable is my favorite marvel character.
and i also like rob liefeld.

if anyone is going to start picking up the new cable series, i highly recommend you check out the messiah complex trade paperback 1st.
it is the set up for th enew book and explains a lot as to why cable has a baby girl strapped to his chest and why bishop is trying to kill them.

for anyone looking to understand cable's past a bit, i recommend fairly recent cable classic trade.

personally, i (semi) patiently waiting for marvel to collect the soldier x series.
it would fit perfectly between the the end trade and the 1st cable & deadpool vol 1 trade.

NOT because the movie (which is a superb masterpiece), but right now my favourite MARVEL character is IRON MAN, followed by ANT-MAN (!), DAREDEVIL, BLACK PANTHER and... stop.

I'm just tired of all the mutant titles. CABLE is cool because he looks like a cross between John Matrix (Commando), John Rambo and an alien.

I've had enough of the various X-MEN titles; quality-wise the series started to fall in the middle nineties and hasn't recovered since then !!!

You should give Grant Morrison's run on The New X-Men a try. He had many excellent storylines going on.

i agree w/ giving morrison's x-men a try.

back in the '90's i bought every x-book, every month plus any mini series that came out.
there were roughly 15 different x-books each month.
it all became confusing so i dropped them all until astonishing x-men came along.
that was the only x-book i read until the messiah complex story.
messiah complex was a good story and got me re-interested in the x-universe again.
so when all the new books and the directions for the others started i decided to follow.
yes, right now i'm getting most of the current x-books but some will probablly get dropped after the 1st arc is over.

just wanted to add thatiam currently working on a animal man/cable crossover story. if it comes out half as good as it has in my mind, i think most of you will like it.
