If done right, this could be "The Dark Knight Retirns" of Animal Man comics!

A 4 page preview can be found in most DC comics released today. Things don't start off so good for Buddy.

I just read the 4-5 page preview. Buddy looks like he is in really good shape in 2024. Maybe this is a prequel to the rest of the story set at a different time, but it does not seem like Buddy has aged at all. Still has a full head of blonde hair too? Gerry Conway usually is pretty good at staying with previous continuity. I guess we will have to wait until May 27th to find out.

I like the effect when he absorbs the animal powers. Pure gold.

i agree, the art in the preview was great. i was scared that the would be crappy. which would have kinda turned me off on the book. i stll would have gotten it but wouldn't have been as excited.

i'm a very happy person. i've got into animal man late, mainly cos of morison. I bought a small job lot with issue 5 in it and it blew me away. Keep reading the same issue and finding new stuff, although perhaps i'm making stories up for it now? anyhow i'm on a mission to get everything he's in. Morrison makes me proud to be from the uk. Also collecting doom patrol b'cos of him

good luck finding every animal man appearance. it is possible, i've done it. but some of them are going to be hard to find at a decent price, especially his 1st 5 appearances. and some of the later ones are tough if you don't know where to look for him. there are a few surprise appearances here and there that kind of sneak up on your. i've recently found 2 appearances that i was unaware of, 1 recentand 1 older.
good luck. keep us posted on your progress.

Issue number 3 was not as good as the first two. I don't think his kids were portrayed correctly. Of course, maybe if we saw the "lost time" it would make sense. Something really changes their relationships during this period. My major issue was the kids had Blonde hair. Big coloring mistake. Also, Maxine was apparently powerless. This sucks because I loved the idea of her inheriting her Dad's abilities. Hopefully, the rest of the series will get back on track.
